Red foxes can live about 12 years in captivity. Males are usually larger than females. Males will often hunt in a wider area than females do. 
Foxes hunt like a cat by stalking and pouncing. Because a fox can hear so well they can find mice in very thick grass and even in their holes. A fox is sly and cunning. Foxes wait outside a mouse hole and pounce on it when it comes out. A fox is also very determined. When they chase something they can run for a long time until what they are chasing gives up.
