The small Bush Dog is an endangered animal. That means there are not very many of the left in the world today. It also means they are endanger of becoming extinct. Extinct means that soon there might be none left.

Some AZA Zoos are working together in a managed breeding program to save the endangered Bush Dog from becoming extinct. Not a lot is known about the Bush Dogs in the wild, be people are working now to learn more.

Little Rock Bush Dog Gallery

	The little Bush Dog reminds be sort of of a Badger or a small odd terrier. Look at the photos and see what the little Bush Dog reminds you of. They are actually quite remarkable little dogs.
	The little Bush Dog is found mostly in Northern South America in grasslands and open forests.
	The Bush Dog has reddish brown back and sides.
	The tail and back legs are usually darker than their front legs and heads.
	They have very small ears and very short legs.
	The Bush Dog has the fewest teeth of all dogs. It has only 38 teeth. Do you know how many teethe you have? Why don't you count them.
	They are usually 20 to 30 inches long for the bodies and heads together.
	Their tails are usually shorter than 6 inches.
	The Bush Dog is territorial.
	They hunt in packs.
	A pack is usually a large extended family group.
	They swim quite well.
	They hunt mostly at night and rest during the day.

We have visited Bush Dog exhibits in Oklahoma City Zoo, St. Louis Zoo and the Little Rock Zoo. We love the Bush Dog exhibits at Oklahoma City and Little Rock Arkansas.
