This is Sooky and Asian elephant cow at the Tulsa Zoo in Tulsa Oklahoma. I really enjoyed the Asian elephant exhibit there. the elephants seem happy and content. the keepers seem very in tune to the well balanced care of their huge charges. In this set of photos you see a keeper working with Sooky the Asian elephant cow. Keepers work with elephants to be able to physically examine and elephant. This is NOT a circus act. The elephants are not forced to do anything. They are asked it they wanted to they did if not they walked off and started eating hay. The elephants seemed to enjoy the interaction. But you have to be able to look into an elephants mouth and at the bottoms of the feet etc... This is a fun way for elephants to show different body parts for keepers to examine.
