This is Indah, the baby Orangutan that lives in the baby nursery of the The Memphis Zoo in Memphis, Tennessee. Her mother could not take care of her so she is being raised in the baby nursery instead. Normally baby Orangutans stay with their mothers for such a long time it is believed that is why they are so smart. The 12 keepers who care for Indah try very hard to help her learn to e an orangutan, They offer her as much climbing and stimulating experiences as they in the quest to prepare her to live with other orangutans in the future. YOU can see baby Indah in the nursery at the Memphis Zoo. We travel 7 hours to see Indah about every other month. She is so worth the trip. It is so much fun to watch.
